i worked for sap. and left in nov of 2009. i came to sap with the business objects acquisitions. if they were smart, they would of put john schwarz in charge - he's a great CEO and actually gets it. in their own minds, they are a superior organization. so far from the truth.

A clear sign of desperation - in fact a complete failure of the entire management leadership and too bad Leo has to be the fall guy.

Your view (Ray Wang) is biaised to say Bill is "an excellent sales guy" - where is your evidence in that?!? and to finger the issue on "..it is not sales. It is the products" .. makes me question your credibility!!! Did Bill pay you to write?

Who would be surprised that Schwarz isn't in the running now? He's too new to be anything but an outsider and Hasso has never pushed outsiders up the ladder that far. Heck, he didn't even back Shai for the post, so Schwarz shouldn't surprise anyone ever.

As a former SAP insider (chief of staff for marketing), it's no surprise that either Bill or Jim could climb to the top of the organization. I am, though, very surprised they made it there so fast and that Leo would fall. I'd have wished better for him and his staff personally.
