“Honestly, history tells us the act of outsourcing doesn’t save money…” Gartner Group
This morning I nearly choked on my cornflakes to the incredible revelation in CIO.com from analyst firm, Gartner Group, that outsourcing doesn’t save money.
IBM’s IOD Showcases DB2, Informix, InfoSphere. Now, About Marketing….
It was hard to decide where to look first in Las Vegas this year at IBM’s flagship information management event. Coming as it did on the heels of a massive, sprawling Oracle Open World, it was also overwhelming, but distinguished itself immediately by its focus. Whereas Oracle has smashed together hardware systems, apps, middleware, java [...]
Locked in Paradigms
Have you noticed that Google looks terribly stale when compared to Facebook? It’s not that Google’s products are weak by comparison but rather the simple fact that Facebook isn’t locked into paradigms imposed by having widely used products that reflect how earlier generations of users see them. More importantly Facebook has a distribution capability that [...]
Mobile Data Analytics
Over the past couple of years I have met with several startups that offer analytic solutions for mobile data. I have not invested in any of them.
