    As always, you make some really good arguments. Your personal blog is one of the few I read *word for word* on a consistent basis.

    I think you hit the nail on the end in terms of market domination usually being a function of network effects or platform. I don’t think HubSpot has a network effect yet (though we do have ideas for how we might create that), but we are starting to see a platform effect.

    It feels a lot to us like Salesforce.com when they were at our stage. Reducing the barrier to entry (by focusing on small business), building an ecosystem around the product and investing aggressively in an ambitious product strategy.

    Of course, there’s no telling whether the marketing software industry ends up being a “winner take most” market. But, we think that it could be.
